I don't think anyone disagrees with the fact that the spending needs to be cut. The question is how to be fair about it. I personally think that in a perfect world, everyone would feel the same amount cut back and pain in proportion to what he makes. Maybe the welfare and elderly get 5% less benefits, the taxpayer pays 5% more and every government program gets cut back.. say 5%.

JAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7032730538386219795.post-86095758659970808602011-06-01T20:49:00.784-07:002011-06-01T20:49:00.784-07:00We can argue until there is nothing left to be sai...We can argue until there is nothing left to be said. I see things you don't see and you obviously see things I don't see. But I firmly believe that Obama is the worst thing America has experienced in the twenty-first century.

I am not being petty and attacking the pocket change, which is $500k in New Mexico, compared to the billions and billions that are squandered across our landscape daily, but...but!, the very fact that New Mexico is struggling with a mere $500k for such a needy slot of society is an absolutley terrifying reflection and result of the times we are facing, trickling all the way down into such a hairline crack in America's foundation that you would never expect to be contacted by such poor government leadership.

I'm tired of arguing about who is right and who is wrong, Democrats or Republicans, both sides are equally destructive when left to their own unchecked desires, but right now, Barack Obama and progressive ideals are unacceptable. Regardless of all the entitlements, abortion debates, wars, gay marriage struggles, natural disasters, and all of the other different nations' problems we involve ourselves with, none of it means anything if our economy falls off the cliff it is hardly continuing to grasp.Michaelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03476153826305566859noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7032730538386219795.post-17558241325304989822011-06-01T20:12:01.644-07:002011-06-01T20:12:01.644-07:00The jobless rate is still high from the recession....The jobless rate is still high from the recession. That's why food stamp usage is at an all time high. Why did the recession happen? Speculation and bubbles. Why does it continue? A lot of goods are cheaper from overseas with third world labor forces. The New Mexico food stamp program cost 500k per year for New Mexico. So now the elderly and and the disabled will feel the effects of the recession. Will those in the highest tax brackets feel the effects? How is it the government's fault that the job rate is so low even as the taxes are still low? I can't comprehend the amount of money flying around in the federal and state budgets but I wonder what is more wasteful... white collar gaming of the system of poor welfare gaming of the system.

JAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
