Our tax system is a train wreck with plenty of room for improvement and I for one feel shackled, limited, and smothered by the monster it has become and how poorly so many of the tax dollars are so unreasonably wasted. The first personal income tax in the US was raised by Lincoln to help pay for the Civil War.
